Energy codes are a powerful tool to drive improvements in energy performance of new buildings. This report discusses the latest analysis of the impacts of the energy code on commercial buildings and whether developers have been able to incorporate better technologies or responded effectively to utility incentives. The analysis suggests that buildings who are in compliance with the energy code are using less energy than baseline prototypes.
